Finish Line

I created this LO using the Faster Than Fast Kit from Meghan Mullens. This kit is perfect for those pictures I took at the Nascar Nationwide Race we went to in September last year! This LO was created for a forum I used to belong to for a challenge. The challenge started with this sketch:

While the sketch looks like it is for an 8 1/2 x 11" LO, I work with 12x12, so I had to convert it to fit that size. It was a nice challenge that I had fun with. Here is my completed LO. My son got to meet his hero, Jimmy Johnson! We were not able to take pictures in line of the autograph session, so I used a picture of my son on the start/finish line at Dover International Speedway and a picture I did get of Jimmie signing an autograph for another fan. This is a day that my little man will NEVER forget. I am not a huge Nascar fan myself, but I get what a big deal this was for him!

A Day of Smiles

This was another sketch challenge layout from one of my forums. Another sketch that just seemed to call my name. I love when that happens. I find creating is so much easier at times like those! This sketch is from Becky Fleck and a beautiful one it is!

This is yet another Disney layout. I am really trying hard to get this album completed! I have many more to do as I took over 1500 pictures while we were there. Now, don't get scared, I am not scrapping them ALL!!

Always Remember This

Finally, a non-Disney layout!! I was on a blog hop during iNSD and I received more freebies that I could ever imagine. After I downloaded everything, I noticed that most of the designers all worked with the same theme and colors. How wonderful was that, made organizing them so much easier. However, after organizing them I realized that most of the designers names were not listed. These ladies are super talented and I really wish to give them all credit for their products. If and when I figure who created what, I will be more than happy to give credit where credit is due!

I really had fun with this one, it took me a bit out of my comfort zone. I layered items, like I've never done before. Wow, what a blast. I love that I was able to do a layout about my wonderful husband and I, as I have done so few of those!

Epcot

A forum that I am part of had a sketch challenge every month. I usually don't do well at these challenges, however this one really called to me. The sketch was created by one of the talented members of that group.

I took this sketch and created a layout about our first visit to Epcot!

The Colors of Magic

This is another Pinterest inspired layout. I find it hard to credit who the people are who inspired me. I just see something here or there that puts an idea in my head. It's not a scraplift, but sometimes just an idea jump start. For instance I saw a layout with a scalloped border and I got the idea to use circles of patterned paper to create a scalloped border on this page as I am still really limited on what I know how to do digitally.

This layout is all about the castle! Who doesn't love Cinderella castle? It was my absolute favorite thing that we saw during our visit. I know the main photo is a bit blurry, but I decided it needed to be used. It really was the epitome of the magic that you can find at the Magic Kingdom!

The Hats

I was recently on Pinterest and saw some really great layouts. There were tons of Disney layouts and I was inspired to create the one below. My boys just loved all the hats and Mickey ears Disney. They tried them on whenever they could. I pulled out a few of my favorite pictures and put them together on this page.

Old Favorites

Since my blog is fairly new and I will admit I am not that good at updating it like I should. I thought I would go ahead and highlight a few of my favorite scrapbook pages over the past year or so.

This first layout is about me!! I was about a year old in this picture. This is one of my favorites. Being a mom of 2 boys who are the main subjects of my scrapbooking it was a lot of fun to use some girlie items!! I splashed acrylic paint on the background paper and just had fun layering all the flowers, flourishes and butterflies. I painted to letters black to match and covered them with clear stickles.

Going Digital!

I have had a hard time lately finding the time and the space to scrap traditionally. I have been toying with the idea of digi scrapping. I know there is nothing like good ole paper and glue, but I needed a creative outlet that is quick and mess free. I have found that that with digital scrapbooking. I will never give up paper scrapping, but I think I am going to save that for mini albums and special projects and scrap my layouts digitally. I really never liked the look of digi, I always said it was too flat. But, I guess the saying beggars can't be choosers really applies in this situation. With the lack of a scrap space, I found it hard to find enough time to complete a page in one sitting. Certainly don't want to be taking up space at the dining room table for days on end. I really missed being creative regularly and found that digi scrapping is the best option for me. What I really want to accomplish is to be able to make pages that can easily translate into paper. I want my style to stay my style. What I really LOVE about digi scrapping is adding all the different layers and textures I can create. I love a layered layout, but found it difficult and quite expensive to do in paper. Now I can layer to my hearts desire! So without further adieu, my fist digi page...

I used this template by Cindy Schneider  to get my mojo started:

Then I completed this page, using Digital supplies from NoReimerReason and Julie Billingsley. My family and I went to Disney World in January, so I am working on that album at the moment.
I can't wait to see what all digital scrapbooking has in store for me!
