Happy Halloween

Thanks to the Digiscrap Parade that provided this great Halloween kit!! I couldn't wait to use it. Again, another great collaboration with so many talented ladies participating! Our youngest son dressed as Stampy Cat (yes he's a cat and not a fox..LOL), a Minecraft Youtube sensation and our oldest was his favorite Nascar driver, Jimmie Johnson. We did so many great Halloween events this year in which they got to sport their costumes and they loved every minute of it!!

Have an Adventure

This is my first design team project for Colorful Creations! I'm so excited to be part of such a talented team.

for this layout, I used a kit called Authentic that I got during a blog hop. I really love all the colors in it. It was perfect for our trip to St. Peter's Village ( a little village of shops and such near where I live). I love these pictures of the boys, definitely shows their personality.

Here is the sketch for Colorful creations that I used:

And here is my layout:

I am excited to say that I have submitted this layout for a possible design team assignment for Colorful Creations. I have never applied for a design team before, so I am a bit nervous and anxious all at the same time!!

I used this fantastic sketch supplied by Colorful Creations and a digital kit called At the Pumpkin Patch created by Jenn Barrette. I love this kit, it's just screams fall and all the joy that comes with that time of year!

Winter Mini

I love love love digital scrapbooking, it has opened up a whole new world to me. Unlike most scrappers, I don't have a dedicated space to work in. I am  usually at my dining room table trying to work on projects. I also run an in home daycare, so needless to say any unfinished projects need to be put away when I am done working on them. I had a hard time carving out enough time in my day to be worth getting everything out and in the end I found myself not scrapping because of it. So, I turned to digital scapping and I am completing pages and documenting our life.

With all that being said, I could never give up my love of paper and glue!! That's what creating is all about...the paper mess and sticky glue...you have to love it. :-) I have missed my paper and decided to try my hand at a little mini album. I used Kathy Orta's hidden binding system and watched tons of youtube videos and looked at a gazillion Pinterest ideas and came up with my own little book.

I didn't take a photo of each individual page, though I probably should have...but I wanted to give a general idea of what the book looked like. I've had these SEI papers laying around here for quite a few years. Seriously, they were too beautiful to use. Now on the cover I wanted the bird just a little more centered, but it was my first time making a cover, so I will try not to be too hard on my self.

I hope you enjoy it!

Paradise

I really wanted to try something different with this layout. I've seen it many times where a picture is separated into different photo mats. I love the look. I think next time I will try and get the panels a little closer, but it was fun figuring something out that I've never tried before. I just love learning new things and each time I find a new technique or I figure something out, I fall in love digital scrapbooking even more! It's a never ending learning process for me!

I had so much fun doing this one! The kit I used for this one came from a DigiScrap Parade last year, it was titled Playful. I love everything about this kit...so many talented designers participated.

Love

Very rarely do I have my picture taken! We went to a great little village near us that has these cute little shops. Behind them is a creek with all these great boulders and rocks to climb. The boys love it there. I decided to let my husband take my picture with the boys! I'm glad I did. My hair is a mess and I'm looking a little ragged, but it's is a memory I want them to always remember!

Beach memories

Ah, we are back to the beach pages! This is the last one for now. I still have lots of photo's to scrap, but thought maybe I should move for a little after this one.  All my beach pages came from these kits: Memorable  Vacation-Kristin Cronin-Barrow & Zoe Pearn, Almost Paradise-Julie Billingsley, Sea How Much I love you which was a mega collab from different designers and Bermuda Triangle which I got during a DigiScrap Parade. These were some great beach kits!  So much talent in those who were part of designing these.

Pumpkin Patch

I took a little break from beach pages and decided to do something that made me think of cooler, crisper weather. Although I love Summer, there is something so wonderful about fall. I happen to come across these pictures from our trip to the pumpkin patch last October and decided it was time they got scrapped! This is from a kit I bought last year from Jenn  Barrette called the Pumpkin Patch.

Play time

My new love is wood grain papers! I have found myself using these a lot lately. I just love how they can go from beachy to country to everything in between. It's such a great neutral! I wasn't fond of this page when I was done with it, it still seems like something is missing, but I had to finally call it finished or I would probably still be working on it!! I love these pictures of my boys on the beach!

Have an Adventure

I don't know a better compliment to my work than someone saying "I love what you do, can you make something for me?' My wonderful husband asked me to make him a layout so he can hang in his office it at work. He wanted a bunch of pictures of our boys on it. I'm not used to working with so many pictures on one page, but I think it worked okay. I tend to like 1 photo layouts but have been trying to leave my comfort zone and add more!

Summer time

Back to the beach pages!! I have so many pictures to scrap from our trip I am probably going to be working on these for awhile. But really I love everything about the beach, so I have no problems making pages. I just love all the colors that are associated with the beach and the ocean. I would love to have these colors in my house!

Balloons to Heaven

On Mother's Day the boys wanted to send cards and balloons to their Grammy who is in heaven. It was such a touching day. I've been wanting to scrap it for awhile. Recently I have been trying to organize my digital supplies and I came across this great kit that was just perfect for these pictures. This kit was called The View and I think it may have been a free kit that I got, but can't quite remember.

Happiness

For my oldest son's 10th birthday in March, he decided instead of a party he wanted Nascar tickets. So we bought him tickets to the August race at the Pocono Raceway. He got pit passes and we sat in Victory Lane seating which got us up close to the drivers as they walked out to the stage for driver introductions. It was a great day and I wanted to get it scrapped. I've had this racing kit in my stash for well over a year now, it was nice to get to use it! He was one happy boy at that race!

Dad's 70th Surprise Party

On July 19th we through my dad a great surprise party for his 70th birthday! He was really caught off guard and actually thought he was coming to a birthday party for a friend of his. It was so much fun. I really wanted to capture the moment! I used a kit from Megan Mullins and Studio Flergs called The Gentleman for this page.

Beach Snapshots

I've decided it's time to scrap our beach trip that week took at the end of June. We spent a wonderful week in Ocean City, NJ. Normally I take lots and lots of pictures, but I put my camera down more often and really just enjoyed time with my family. There are many great beach kits over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. Most of my newer Lo's I have pulled from different kits because they all seem to match. I love it!

Just Being me

I had a busy scrappy weekend and got 2 layouts done! That is rare thing for me to do. Especially once the weather turns warm! I often find myself wanting to spend as much time as possible outdoors and enjoying the sunshine. A few small health issues kept me indoors this weekend and resting, perfect for scrapbooking. I found another idea on Pinterest that I just loved. I had the perfect pictures of my youngest son. We were outside playing one afternoon and he just decided he wanted to be my little model. It doesn't happen often so I grabbed my camera and took a few shots of him! I used the kit 20 Questions by  Shawna Clingerman. Another great kit that is perfect for my household full of boys!

Pool Time Fun

I've been quite busy lately and haven't had much time to sit and actually scrap. I still thought about scrapping and spent time scrounging the internet, especially Pinterest, for inspiration! I found a gem there recently that just screamed summer. It immediately made me think of some pictures I had of my boys swimming last summer. I loved how it turned out. I used a kit called Memorable Vacation by Kristin Cronin-Barrow & Zoe Pearn. The colors are great. I find myself going back to this kit often!

Spring Memories

I absolutely ADORE the template I used to create this layout from Cindy Schneider! The sunshine, the clouds, everything just was perfect for these pictures I had of my youngest son picking dandelions out front of our house recently. Nothing screams spring like dandelions and sunshine!

All the yellow papers were basically pulled from different kits I had. All other papers and embellishments are from the kit Memorable Vacation-Kristin Cronin-Barrow & Zoe Pearn. All the colors really seem to work well together.

This is My Happy

I used the Brighter Days ahead kit from Melissa Bennett. The colors are just beautiful and were perfect for this layout of my youngest son, Colin. I did not have a template for this particular page, but I love how it turned out!!

Saturday, March 1, 2014

My next layout is about my boys...brothers. They are very close considering their almost 5 year age difference. I used another 6x12 template from Cindy Schneider...I'm really loving these!! The kit is Oh Brother from Heather Roselli.

Please excuse the bad picture of this layout. I made this for my son's teacher to hang in her classroom for Valentines day. I snapped a quick picture of it with my iPad before I sent it off to school. Hopefully it will come back home in good condition and I can get better pictures.

The little quilted squares were fun to make. The patterned paper and elements were all Michael's Recollection brand.

The one thing I have to say about digital scrapbooking is: I think it's made me a better paper scrapper as well! I have seen my scrapbook pages grow and evolve since starting to digi scrap. I will never completely give up paper scrapping, but I like that I can do a mix of both!

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Where have I been? Well I have to say for a good portion of the past year, I had taken a hiatus from scrapbooking. I know, how can anyone take a break from scrapping? Life just got in the way. Well I am happy to report I am back at it. Not full force, but working on it.

Today's LO is called Beach Day. I made this using the Denim Blues kit by Studio Flergs and a 6x12 template from Cindy Schneider. This is a bit outside of my normal style, but I had a lot of fun creating it. I hope you enjoy looking at it.
